Details
-
Recommended tools: circular saw or track saw for long straight cuts, miter saw or table saw for trim and corners, oscillating multi-tool for small notches, caulking gun for caulk, and a drill for screws
-
Blades: fine-tooth carbide wood blade on circular saw or miter saw; 40–60T on 7-1/4 inch blades works well. Use 10–14 TPI wood or laminate blades on a jigsaw for cleaner edges
-
Cut setup: mark from the face, support the panel fully on a sacrificial board, and clamp to prevent vibration. For circular saws, place the finished face down to minimize surface chipping. For jigsaws, use a reverse-tooth blade or cut with the finished face down
-
Straight cuts: score your line with a utility knife, apply painter’s tape over the cut line, and feed steadily without forcing the blade. Test scrap first to confirm feed rate and edge quality
-
Openings and curves: drill a starter hole, then follow the line with a jigsaw. For electrical boxes, vents, hose bibs, or sconces, trace the trim plate and cut slightly inside the line for a snug fit
-
Corners and seams: miter 45 degrees where desired, or use keyless corners and end caps for a clean finish. Dry-fit to align interlocking edges before final fastening
-
Edge finishing: lightly sand cut edges. Seal exposed foam as directed and touch up with color-matched paint from our accessory kits for a continuous stacked stone look
-
Fastener prep: pre-drill near edges to reduce the chance of micro-cracks. Maintain recommended screw spacing and use construction adhesive plus screws for best bond
-
Safety: wear eye protection, hearing protection, and a dust mask. Cut in a well-ventilated area and keep hands clear of the blade path
